Doctor Lubomir Kanov is a famous Bulgarian psychiatrist. More than fifteen years he has been a psychiatrist in New York, director of the clinic Rockville Centre. At the age of 33, doctor Kanov was accused of campaigning and propagandizing of ideas detrimental to the Socialist system. Due to that, he was detained for about two years in the prison in Stara Zagora.
After the opening of the personal files in the 90s of the last century, Lubomir Kanov gained access to his personal file learning for the first time things he had only guessed about. Today he has forgiven everybody, the informers as well as those who gave witness against him fearing for their own life. He has not forgiven only the torturers and the executioners, because, in his opinion, only the man who has repented of what he has done has the right to be forgiven.
Dr. Lubomir Kanov:
There are two approaches to life:
The first one is to study it. It means to take it as something that has to be clarified, to grasp what its hidden meaning is. The most natural impulse that arouses from such approach is to describe life, to fix in some way the conclusions you have reached. Its ultimate result are numerous essays, articles, formulas, assertions and deductions that, in fact, do not help anyone, even the person who wrote them to get closer to the secret of what is hidden in depth.
The second approach to life is just to live it. Without distancing yourself from it, just immerse into being as innocently as children do. And do not to live in fear of death.
